Laccaria amethystina, commonly known as the amethyst deceiver, or amethyst laccaria, [1] is a small brightly colored mushroom It has thick purple gills, a white spore print, and a small cap that is initially purple but soon fades to buff or brownish. Because its bright amethyst coloration fades with age and weathering, it becomes difficult to identify, hence the common name deceiver.
